New home page, sorting media, RSS & firefox.

I'm taking a short break from Half-Life 2 to update the page. You may have noticed that I changed the home page. It now displays all of the news sections, instead of just the "Updates" which is probably the least active section. I did this for a few reasons. First of all since I only make an update post once every few weeks or so the page was losing it's place in search engines. I'd kinda like Dujodu.com to be the first hit for a keyword search for "Dujodu". It also makes more sense, since you don't have to visit all the sections to see if there are updates. I'm also not sure that people realized there were different news sections!! The disadvantage is that you have to deal with stupid pictures of woot stuff that I buy, even if you don't care and just came to look at the media.

Kind of tying in with that, you'll notice "All Types" under the Media section now. This is a type independent list of the media on the site sorted by date. It's kind of like the "recent media" bar on the right, but it goes back to the start. I'm probably going to add some sorting features to the media page soon, sort by name etc.

Aside from that, I've also updated the RSS button in the lower right for Firefox. It now has all 4 feeds with appropriate descriptions.

Half-Life 2

Half-Life 2 was released a couple days ago, and It ROCKS. I've been playing it as much as possible, but unfortunately that has only bee a few hours since I'm rather busy with school work. I don't have much to say about it, I just thought it would be appropriate to document this event. I could probably use a better video card but it runs good enough for now. I wasn't that excited about CS:S, but I have to say the updated graphics and levels have added a lot to the game. I'm not sure if the gameplay is any different, but it seems much better than I remember CS being. There are also tons of newbies playing. Ok, that's enough of that. Maybe I'll post a few screenshots later. Now it is time to sleep.

election

After being depressed for about a week, I thought it would be important to note how disappointed I am in the nation for re-electing George W. Bush. Well, technically it isn't a re-election.. but I won't go there. I've been too pissed off to watch the news since, but from what I gather the Bush administration seems to think they blew Kerry out of the water. I don't think a 3% victory, is that great. And 51%? That isn't very great either.

Either way, I hope everyone voted. I know the turnout in Wauwatosa wasn't that great, 9% less than last year for registered voters apparently. And I can't believe the percent of youth voters nation wide was the same as last year. Doesn't anybody care? I know Kerry would have been far from perfect, or great even. I think it would have been a step in the right direction though.

On a lighter note, I got a new t-shirt. It came in a really funny box.
